Yes you should, that steering wheel should be super easy to swap.

I’m very glad I’m on the opposite coast right now

Spend the money on your one true love, the Sunchaser.

A little beat, and some of the add-ons are of questionable taste, but the price seems OK. A little cylinder head work and it is possible to make the eta engine into a revver. But I do want to meet the engineer that thought that a timing belt in an interference engine was a good idea and smack him upside the head...

Must be the same guy who worked on the SVT Focus engine as well.
Valves and pistons do not play paddy-cake well. Pistons are super competitive and always win.

Oh yeah. I remember getting the timing wrong on a BMW M10 engine and heard an annoying clank-clank-clank when starting the engine, but that was entirely my fault. Back to the machine shop to get the head re-worked and a little grinding out of the dents in the pistons. Oops.
It’s hard to kill an M10 however. Mine ran for years with a cracked block, and BMW did get approximately 1,500hp out of them in F1 qualifying trim

That steering wheel and those white gages are unacceptable.

You can use any M20B25 or M20B27 block, an M20B25 head, M20B27 (325e) rods and crank, and Super ETA (1988 325e) pistons to create an E30 327i. A lot of work, but you really notice the extra power and torque.

Dooo ittt!!
It has -is seats which, if it is -is, means it has a sweet sports suspension upgrade. Steering wheel and gauges aside it also looks cosmetically pretty good, so mechanicals you can just swap out as needed.
Personally I’d approach it as if everything mechanical needs a rebuild or refresh but if you are a car guy who hasn’t spent much seat time in BMW’s, prepare yourself for a new obsession!

Do it. I am going to Fresno on Saturday night and will swoop it if you don’t. Manual E30 coupes will only go up in value as long as they aren’t wrecked or riced.

I would!
